About Me
Hi, I'm Renity. I'm a 25+ year old queer Black woman, eclectic practitioner, and truly lifelong student of folk magic, ancestral traditions, and the occult. I say lifelong as I do not believe learning ever ends!
My practice is deeply rooted in practical study, ancestral veneration, and intuition, with a particular focus on the folk magics connected to my own mixed heritage. While I consider myself pagan and polytheistic rather than religious, I believe spiritual work is something that should be approached with respect, accountability, and a willingness to keep learning.
My values extend beyond my spiritual practice. I believe ethical magic includes ethical living. I stand firmly against racism, fascism, colonialism, anti-Blackness, queerphobia, and all forms of oppression. This is an LGBTQIA+ affirming space that supports Indigenous sovereignty, reparative justice, migrant dignity, and the liberation of oppressed people worldwide. If those values make you uncomfortable, this isn't the right space for you. In fact, I would advise not exposing yourself to my awareness.
I also don't identify with the "love and light" approach to spirituality. I believe in light and dark in everything, and I find balance within my practice. One thing you'll quickly learn about me is that I have an incredibly strong sense of justice. I don't believe magic exists to help us avoid accountability or chase after things we already know are unhealthy. Please don't come to me looking for a spell to make someone who continually disrespects you love you back, or to manifest wealth while refusing to address the habits, fears, or choices keeping you stagnant. I don't offer shortcuts, magical loopholes, or spiritual excuses. Lasting change requires honesty, accountability, and—most importantly—work. Shadow work is called work for a reason.
Likewise, do not approach me seeking to manipulate the truth or conceal your own wrongdoing. I trust my intuition as much as I trust my research, and I have learned not to ignore either. If you are the one causing harm, I will not aid you in escaping the consequences of your actions. My practice is rooted in discernment as much as compassion. If your intentions are dishonest or malicious, this is not the place for you and your retribution will be swift and ruthless.
Outside of magic, you'll usually find me spending time with my spouse, playing The Sims 4, watching C-dramas, baking, crafting something new, wandering thrift stores, or enjoying a little herbal relaxation. I'm proudly based in Virginia, USA, and I'm excited that you've found your way here.
